1.
I received a free photo shoot offer letter from Ethos. What’s the
catch?
There is no catch! We regularly organise promotions to give a few people
the chance to experience Ethos for themselves at no cost to them. Since
we normally charge £70 for a 90 minutes photo shoot, this is a great
opportunity to have some exciting, relaxed and innovative portraits taken
of yourself and your family without worrying about paying a fee upfront.
2. Can I buy the images from my photo shoot
on disc?
Ethos give you the unique opportunity to purchase a DVD version of the
slideshow presented to you at your preview. In order to preserve our copyright,
we cannot sell digital versions of images for printing purposes.
3. How much does a photo shoot cost?
A 90 minutes photo shoot at the Ethos studio in St Mellion costs £70.
This fee also covers the preview appointment where we present you with
an exciting projected slideshow for you to review and select your favourite
portraits.
4. Do I get a free photo with my photo
shoot?
The session fee doesn’t normally include a complimentary portrait.
However, we regularly run promotions to introduce new customers to our
studio, which will often include a product with the session fee. To find
out more about these promotions, please contact the studio or visit our
special offer page.
5. Will I need to pay anything when I
book an appointment?
As a sign of good faith, we require a £15 booking fee, payable by
debit or credit card at time of booking. We will refund this fee when
you attend your photo shoot, or we will be happy to credit this amount
towards your portraits order.
6. Can I buy prints without frames?
To guarantee that the style of portraiture Ethos is renowned for is displayed
in the best possible way, we prefer not to sell loose prints. We have
carefully selected a range of products and frames to match our contemporary
and highly personalised photography to your lifestyle and your budget.
7. How much do your portraits cost?
Our products range from £45 for stylish desktop portraits, going
up to £1200 for stunning wall displays. Our frames and styles are
selected to accommodate varied lifestyles, interiors, and budgets. Whether
it is the elegant Stele or the minimalistic Myriad , we can guarantee
there is an Ethos product for your home. Why not have a look at our products
page and see which range defines you?
8 . Do you take appointments at the weekend?
We can offer appointments for photo shoots as well as previews on Saturdays,
but the studio is closed on Sundays . Because we are at our busiest at
the weekend, we offer appointments after school hours and early evening
so we can usually offer you a booking suitable for all the family with
minimal waiting time.

11. Do I get to see my pictures
straight away?
No. At the end of your photo shoot, we will arrange a second appointment
at the studio so you can see a projected slideshow of your images. Once
you have seen the brilliant set of photographs we will have designed for
you (around 30 to 40), we will discuss with you the best combinations
between images and products so you can display your Ethos portraits in
a totally personalised way.
12. Can you photograph pets?
Yes. If pets are part of your family then your portraits may not feel
complete without them so we endeavour to accommodate them where possible.
Please discuss this at the time of booking so that that we can make the
appropriate preparations and advise you on the best way to keep your pet
content during the session. Please note that from our experience even
the most confident cats can become nervous when they see flashes.
13. Can you photograph big
groups?
Yes we can, but only up to a maximum of eight adults. Greater numbers
may be possible if the group consists of small children, please discuss
with the photographer when booking your session.
14. Do you do black and white pictures
as well as colour?
Yes. We are a fully digital studio so all of your pictures are available
in black and white as well as colour. During your preview, your images
will be presented in a format the photographer’s experience and
eye judge to be the most appropriate in bringing out the spirit of each
individual image. However you can discuss having a black and white image
as colour and vice versa during your preview.
15. What happens if I need
to rebook my photo shoot or preview appointment?
As a small locally run studio our time is very precious and booking times
do fill up quickly. However, we do appreciate that unforeseen circumstances
can mean that you have to rebook your photo shoot or preview appointment.
All we can ask is that you give us ample notice of a cancellation where
possible. We would also advise that you rebook at the same time so that
we have the best chance of finding a time suitable for you. Should you
miss an appointment without giving us any notice, we reserve the right
to charge a £15 cancellation fee.
16. I would like my family
photographed in a traditional style. Can you do that?
Our clientele choose us over other portrait photographers for our unique
skills in creating contemporary photographic art that captures people’s
spirit and personality. We will discuss your requirements with you to
produce portraits that suit your individual tastes but our style cannot
be described as traditional in any way. Our experience shows that clients
with more classic tastes often end up being the most enthusiastic about
their Ethos portraits, simply because we have captured something about
their family that no one else had done before.
