I have been making a living from photography for the last 20 years, so I'm old enoughs to have experienced the thrills and smells of the traditional darkroom, but quite frankly, you'll never hear me say that it was better before.
I like to enjoy things as they happen, without too much planning, I like to seize the moment.
I think my style of photography reflects this attitude. Not too much posing, letting things develop, giving people room to be themselves.
I just love working with people, of all ages, and I sometimes think that I'm only doing this job because I can spend my time chatting and having a laugh. I guess that's why I don't shy away from slightly challenging portrait shoots. Grown-ups, toddlers, newborn, pets all mixed together? Why not, we'll all have fun together!
I have two young sons, who are a source of energy and a distraction in equal measure. They have taught me a thing or two about photographing children.
I often cycle 15 miles to the studio from my home in Plymouth. This too gives me energy, but I agree that it may seem a little odd to some people.
I've won a few regional awards and I'm keen on winning national titles, but my clients come first and the feedback they give me matters more than any fancy prizes. I'm not a big fan of babies-photography-plymouth-saltash.html in cabbages or plastic surgery via Photoshop, but if you are looking for soulful, genuine portraits with a healthy dose of humour, then we should get along nicely. I looking forward to working with you.
I like:
-
Hearing my wife and sons laugh.
- Riding bicycles.
I don't like:
-
Having my head underwater.

After being given my first camera when I was 7, I soon became accustomed to it going everywhere with me, taking pictures of anything I found interesting …people, places pets! I loved the excitement of waiting for a film to develop and see what I had captured.
The excitement remained after moving from film, to the endless potential with digital and I chose to study Photography and Journalism at university.
I enjoy meeting new people and at Ethos there is always something different going on. As we encourage families to bring in pets, hobbies and prize possessions, no two shoots are ever the same and I love working in such a creative environment.
Out of the studio I enjoy spending time with friends and an ever-increasing family. I spend a lot of time at the beach and in the summer months (providing the sun makes an appearance!!!) I’ll be there as much as possible, spending many evenings having barbeques as we watch the sun disappear into the sea.
I also love music and try and go to as many live shows as I can to soak up that great live atmosphere.
I like:
-
Long summer evenings in the sun.
- Being kept busy.
I don't like:
-
I have a rather odd but strong phobia of pheasants!
